Community Development Program
Education

To help provide quality primary education to children and to provide the functional education to illiterate women, WWHL is struggling, to educate the women, to create leadership skills among children and to mobilize community for the improvement of schools functioning.

Advocacy for School Improvement Program
The schools of  the remote areas are highly neglected as schools lacks basic infrastructure, fans electricity, water coolers, sports goods, building, library. The school improvement program is also necessary to improve the quality of education and its infrastructure.  Pressure groups are being formed and collective efforts are being made to improve infrastructure of these schools, identified in the areas of Shahdara, Badami Bagh and Kot Lakhpat. WWHL has been making efforts to develop linkages with government departments for the regular flow of school funds and budget utilization.

Capacity Building of School Management Committees     
Government has formed school management committees to improve children enrollment, teacher’s attendance, quality education and other related matters. Meetings and trainings are being conducted to improve the efficiency of committees. These structures will look after the school management in better way. The flow of funds and utilization of funds will be improved.

Non Formal centers to educate child labor
Rampant poverty is main hurdle to children for going to schools. These children are unable to join formal schools. WWHL is fighting to end child labor. For this purpose two Non Formal education centers has been established in the development area covered by UC # 12 and 30. The centers are providing the basic education for all the children who cannot go to attend schools due to child labor. 

Children Festival
Children of the DA Union councils are living in poor conditions. They have rare opportunities of recreation and co-curricular activities. To provide the chance of entertainment, colorful and recreational activities are being organized in festival.

Theater Group
Theater performances create leadership qualities in children. A theater group has been identified and it will be trained, so that this group will perform in different activities and highlight the students and children issues through their performance.

Engagement with Teacher’s association/ education Department/Media
WWHL believes that teacher’s association and education department needs to realize their responsibility to improve performance of schools. The organization is making efforts to organize community and mobilize the education and other concerned departments for the improvement of schools performance. Efforts would be made to bring the education agenda.
