Women Legal Rights Awareness Campaign

Lack of job security coupled with absence of implementation of labor laws has made the workers especially women workers in formal and in formal sectors vulnerable to exploitation of the factory owners and bosses. Women workers are not properly aware about their rights at work place.

Violence against women is another powerful obstacle for the achievement of the objectives of equality, development and peace. It violates, impairs and nullifies the women right to fundamental freedoms. The powerful segments of society and state, on the pretext of religion, modesty and culture have continuously denied women fundamental rights.

Provisions of legal help, consultation, linkages and legal rights awareness to needy women is a cross cutting theme of all WWHL programs and projects.

WWHL has taken up the issue as a continuous campaign. So far over seventy women have been provided with legal help, hundreds of women workers are given free legal consultation. Hundreds other have been facilitated by developing linkages with other organizations.
